On 3 and 4 March 2021, Sun-To-X project partners participated in the 1st consortium meeting that took place online due to the sanitary situation. The event was dedicated to review progress made under each work package since the kick-off meeting that launched the project back in September 2020.

During the two days, consortium members presented the work carried out so far. Some of the key achievements mentioned were the development of deposition techniques for photocathodes on transparent GDLs, the identification of two promising routes for Hydrosil production, the intellectual property workshop conducted with the participation of all partners, the launch of the Sun-To-X website and the online collaborative platform, among others.

During the last day of the meeting, the project coordinator Hannah Johnson (Toyota Motor Europe) reviewed the upcoming list of deliverables and milestones, analysed the impact of coronavirus on the project and presented the next steps.

Sun-To-X’s participation in the International Solar Fuels Conference that will take place from 26 to 29 July 2021 was also announced. The project will be represented by Vincent Artero, CEA who will act as chairperson, and Kevin Sivula, EPFL, who will participate as a speaker.

The next Sun-To-X annual meeting will take place in the fall. It will be held physically if the sanitary situation allows it.
